Provincial Nominees (PNP)

Provincial Nominees (PNP)

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) in Canada

Introduction

Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are one of the most popular pathways to permanent residence. Each province and territory (except Quebec and Nunavut) has agreements with the federal government to nominate immigrants who meet their local labour market and economic needs.

At Glocal Immigration, our RCICs (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants) help you:

  • Understand the different PNP streams.

  • Match your profile to the most suitable program.

  • Prepare a strong application that meets provincial and federal requirements.

  • Guide you from nomination to permanent residence.

⚠️ Please note: Each province sets its own eligibility rules, which can change frequently. Always refer to the official government pages linked below for the most current updates.

How PNPs Work

  1. Streams for Workers, Graduates, and Entrepreneurs: Most provinces have dedicated streams for skilled workers, international graduates, and business owners.

  2. Job Offer Requirements: Some streams require a valid provincial job offer, while others (like Masters/PhD graduate streams) don’t.

  3. Pathway to PR: Provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points to your Express Entry profile, almost guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Why Apply Through a PNP?

  • PNPs target local labour shortages, making them ideal if you studied, worked, or lived in a specific province.

  • Many PNPs have exclusive streams for international graduates.

  • A provincial nomination guarantees 600 additional CRS points, which almost always leads to permanent residence through Express Entry.
